Widening who gets a real say
Community-centred governance starts with listening. I believe the best decisions are made by the community, not for the community.
My core commitment is to deepen democracy in Whistler: to be a councillor who is accessible, who listens, who follows through, and who helps residents understand how to engage politically in their own community.
As I told Pique Newsmagazine, I see the people of Whistler as one of our community’s greatest underused resources, and I’d like to see regularly scheduled town halls, neighbourhood associations, and clearer information on how residents can bring issues before council.
I’d also like to see voter engagement increase substantially, through steps like additional polling stations and better public information about how municipal government actually works.
My promise: I’ll maintain direct, ongoing contact with the community through Facebook, Instagram, and a dedicated website, and hold regular in-person and electronic town halls where residents can raise issues and engage me directly — with an open invitation to the mayor and other councillors to join.
